Terms and Conditions



Retainer fees and payments:
Events and services are not reserved on our event schedule until booking fee is paid.  Services cannot be rendered unless contract is signed, at time of booking/ retainer fee is submitted.  All retainer fees are non-refundable and equal 50% of the grand total cost. The client can pay the retainer fee by cash app, credit , venmo ,or paypal.   The balance of the party must be paid  in full on day to event in cash, credit or by paypal.   Please do not ask us to accept  personal checks on the day as we will have to refuse. By paying the retainer fee  you agree to be compliant to all terms and condition listed within the invoice. There will be a $35 late fee for all payments received after time of service. unless an alternative written agreement has been made.

Cancellations:
If your event is cancelled at anytime due to weather, or natural disaster, or other reason; Colorful Events will retain the amount paid from the non-refundable retainer fee. If cancellation is found to be for an acceptable reason, which is determined by the event specialist, said retainer may be applied to a future booking, one time only within that calendar year ( depending on availability) . Unacceptable reasons include but are not limited to, weather, finances, simply changing their mind, and etc. Again, all Outdoor events should be prepared in case of weather conditions prohibit outdoor activity.You will not be refunded your retainer and Face Painting can not take place in the rain or heavy winds.      

Set Up

For Balloon Towers,  and Arches
Setup must be completed within 30 mins of event start time. Please indicate available access time to venue space when ordering event decor.  option to delivery night prior to event is always best ( except when working with Helium . All Balloon decor equipment  will be picked up at end of event or following day from contracted client, unless other arrangements have been made prior. 


For Face Painting
The artist will arrive 15-30 minutes prior to the scheduled time to set up and will leave at the end of scheduled time. Please do not expect the artist to stay extra time unless mutually agreed before the party starts. The overtime rate is $60 per half hour or part of. 
Occasionally, the artist may have another booking elsewhere and will have to finish strictly at the specified time, and we ask for your understanding in this situation
It is advised that a maximum of 25 children can be painted within a 2 hour party booking. If more children are expected, please advise the artist prior to the party, as simplified face or arm designs can be offered instead. If temporary glitter tattoos are booked, for parties of more than 15 children - each child will have a choice of face paint or glitter tattoos but not both. For parties of 15 or less - each child will be able to have face paint and glitter tattoo (applies to 2 hour party bookings).
Please ensure that there is parking available as close to the entrance of the building as possible, since the artist will have to carry heavy equipment in. Failure to do so may result in the artist not being set up on time. If the event/party is being held outdoors, please ensure the artist has cover. Artist does ask that a space and seating be provided for event, if not available please notify artist 14 days before event.

 Face Painting Policy
Face paints are recommended for use on children aged two and over - their skin is too sensitive and the immune system still developing - there is also a risk of prompting future allergies. We will not paint full faces on children under three, but a small picture on the hand or leg may done on children aged between two and three, at the parents own risk. We will not paint children less than two years of age under ANY circumstances.  
A child cannot be held in restraint or otherwise forced to get their faces painted. This should be a magical experience not a traumatizing one.  
The client is responsible for informing parents of attending children that there will be a face painter/temporary glitter tattoo artist at the event, and will advise the artist if there are any children that cannot participate.
We are UNABLE to paint anything which is offensive or illegal, nor will we paint anyone who is intoxicated, violent or abusive. Parents must supervise their children at all times.

Balloon Twisting 

Latex balloons are considered to be a MAJOR choking hazard for small children. for this reason our insurance require that we hand ballon sculptures to the supervising adult for all children under 3 years old. DO NOT Allow any child to put balloons in their mouth.

Extreme Adverse Working Conditions: Colorful Events llc, has the right to cease service and leave without refunding any money, if there are extreme adverse working conditions. In the event this takes place and Client fails to remedy the situation after it has been brought to the Client’s attention. Adverse conditions included but not limited to: destructive, violent, or extreme; inappropriate behavior of a child or adult ; illegal activities; use of illegal substances, intoxicated host or event attendees in an inappropriate setting. In the event  that sexual harassment, inappropriate gestures, remarks, are made to Colorful events staff/associates.

Liability Statement: Artist is not liable for any parties’ allergic reactions to paints. Only FDA compliant paints and cosmetic grade glitters are used for face painting. Children with skin allergies or sensitive skin should either not participate, or have Artist perform a patch test at the beginning of the party. For safety reasons, Artist will not paint children under 3 years old. For sanitary reasons, Artist will not paint anyone who is or appears to be sick or suffering from: cold sores; conjunctivitis; any infectious skin condition; eczema or open wounds. Artist will use reasonable care, but is not responsible for damage to clothing or property. Artist will not supervise children. The behavior and safety of all children and adults is the Parents’ responsibility, and not the Artist’s. Artist cannot see other children and what they are doing while she is painting. Paint is BEST REMOVED WITH SOAP AND WATER.

Tent: We have a 10’x10’ weighted tent that the client may reserve for my set up at outdoor events for a $30.00 fee in the event that shade or a covered area is not provided. Tent fee is waived for any booking of 4 or more hours.  Colorful Events, will provide all necessary tables and chairs free of charge.

Working Area: If the event is outdoors, the Client agrees to provide a covered, comfortable area that is a minimum of six feet by six feet. The Client understands that I will not paint or tattoo without sun and rain protection to protect my products and equipment. If conditions require that I set up my own shade and rain protection, the client agrees to pay the $50.00 tent fee and understands that the time I spend setting up/taking down the tent is billable at my hourly rate. To avoid the additional billable hours, please call ahead if you are unsure if your area is suitable.

Water/washroom access: Please advise me in advance if washroom /restroom, and/or running water service are not available at the event venue.
